Greek-Turkish Border area, August 2007
An experimental version of this photography project was carried out in the Aegean, in the Greek-Turkish border area in August 2007, in planning the larger project. The photographer was Lena Malm, from Helsinki; the researcher was Sarah Green, from the University of Manchester, who was just beginning a project on the markets on the two sides of the borde when the photographs were taken. The aim of the project was to explore shifts in everyday relations between two small market towns, Ayvalik and Mytilene, through looking at the circulation of money between them. These are just a few of the images that resulted. All these photographs are the copyright of the photographer.
